Job summary

Comprehensive-Community-Action (CCAP) seeks a Parent Educator to deliver parenting education programs to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility, aiming to strengthen families and support reintegration. This role requires trauma-informed, culturally responsive instruction, collaboration with reentry teams and mental health staff, and the ability to manage group dynamics in a secure environment.

A bachelor’s degree and experience in parenting education are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Experience in parenting education or related teaching roles preferred.
  • Ability to work in secure facility and manage group dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate evidence-based parenting classes for incarcerated parents.
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to varied literacy and cultural backgrounds.
  • Provide individual coaching or case management as needed.
  • Collaborate with reentry teams, mental health staff, and caseworkers to align programming with rehabilitative goals.
  • Maintain attendance records and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with family services and visitation programs to promote parent-child contact.
  • Evaluate program outcomes and suggest improvements.
  • Uphold all safety protocols within the facility.
  • Participate in trainings and team meetings.
