Job summary

Central City Concern is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join the 16th & Burnside Recovery Center team in Portland, OR. You will support clinicians, assist with medication administration, and help coordinate patient care within a trauma-informed, recovery-focused environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with diverse teams, accurate documentation, and adherence to privacy and safety standards, contributing to positive client outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• One year recent, verifiable medical assistant experience in a health care setting required.
• Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
• Certificate-level Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP) such as AAMA or NCCT preferred.
• Previous experience with underserved populations, especially people without stable housing, preferred.
• Must have current BLS certification prior to start.
• Must have current Adult First Aid Certification prior to start date.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check; DHS background clearance may apply.
• Must read labels and distinguish colors.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects and navigate stairs with accommodation.
• Commitment to non-discrimination policies and respectful interactions with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, client-centered, trauma-informed services.
• Support providers and clients throughout the care process and ensure smooth workflow.
• Administer injectable medications per provider orders with proper documentation.
• Coordinate with medical staff on referrals and follow-up care.
• Maintain medication room, MAR records, and inventory; manage supplies.
