Job summary

Ozarks Community Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Behavioral Health department at Evergreen Clinic. The MA will provide patient care in the clinic, support ongoing treatment plans, and coordinate with physicians and nurses to ensure quality care for patients in a compassionate, efficient setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of related clinic experience (preferred), and an active BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of related experience working in a medical clinic or office is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required; recertification must occur before expiration.
• Float positions require a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle driving record background check during onboarding and employment.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Assistant provides patient care in the office setting.
• Assists with clinical procedures and maintains regulatory compliance.
• Communicates with physicians and team members about patient condition and diagnostic results.
• Supports nursing and office policies, procedures, and standards.
