Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital in the United States seeks a Mental Health Technician II to join the Mathile Center’s inpatient unit. This part-time role provides direct care and supports treatment for pediatric patients with emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral conditions under licensed clinical staff supervision.

The position requires an associate degree in psychology, social work, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred) with at least 1 year in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• CPI or other crisis intervention training is preferred or required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and a safe, therapeutic milieu for patients with emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral conditions.
• Support treatment plans, monitor patient behavior, and assist in daily activities.
• Facilitate/participate in group sessions and collaborative discharge planning.
• Perform routine safety checks and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with the treatment team.
