Job summary

Educators for Quality Alternatives (EQA Schools) is seeking a highly skilled school counselor to provide individual and group counseling to students and lead our trauma-informed approach. The role focuses on students with behavioral and mental health needs and CPTSD, working within a restorative framework to support staff and families.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years experience effectively counseling adolescents with mental health, behavioral health, and trauma issues.
• Experience with restorative approaches and trauma-informed care for CPTSD in youths.
• Louisiana licensure requirements (LCSW or LPC) in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Assess student needs and connect to resources.
• Design and provide individual and group counseling.
• Manage crisis prevention and intervention efforts.
• Train and support staff on trauma-informed practices.
• Coordinate wraparound services with community providers.
