Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education; Master’s preferred.
• Virginia teaching license with an endorsement (English, Special Education, or related).
• Minimum of one year of classroom teaching; experience in special or alternative education preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans based on assessment data and standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities.
• Administer and interpret assessments; track and report progress and behavioral goals.
• Supervise and collaborate with classroom staff including assistants and counselors.
• Communicate with families, guardians, and team members to support student development.
• Utilize behavioral intervention techniques in a trauma-informed manner.
• Integrate technology and alternative materials to enhance instruction.
• Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and IEP progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development.
• Collaborate on extracurricular and community-based activities.
