Job summary

The Bridge for Kids is seeking a passionate Part-Time Childcare Teacher to join our team. We provide trauma-informed early childhood education for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, including survivors of domestic violence and homelessness; you will foster a safe and enriching environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old per licensing.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Ability to communicate with diverse populations and document professionally.
• Experience handling crisis and acting with minimal supervision.
• Ability to supervise using sight and sound.
• Strong classroom control and discipline skills.
• Experience in program management and team planning.
• Self-management and boundary setting with parents.
• Interpersonal skills to understand others' perspectives.
• Ability to facilitate age-appropriate support groups.
• Know and adhere to Social Work Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed services to youth 6 weeks to 12 years with developmental delays.
• Use hands-on, child-led activities to promote development in classroom and outdoors.
• Develop, implement, and monitor long-term investigations to enhance development.
• Complete required daily documentation to stay compliant with the agency and licensing bodies.
• Transport children for field trips and activities; assist with daily life skills.
• Ensure environment meets sanitation and safety standards; follow opening/closing checklists.
• Maintain Bright Beginnings Stellar Center status and program philosophy.
• Support staff education/training requirements and record-keeping.
• Maintain CACFP meal counts and infant meal production forms; ensure meals served correctly.
• Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and stay current with best practices.
