Job summary

Lund’s Early Childhood Program in South Burlington, VT seeks a Teacher Assistant who values nurturing young minds through play and exploration. This full-time, in-person role supports a 5-STAR center serving children six weeks to five years with a play-based curriculum.

You will provide trauma-informed care, ensure safety, and assist in delivering developmentally appropriate activities while engaging families. Compensation is $22 per hour, with benefits and paid training.

Qualifications

• An interest in and commitment to professional development in the field of early childhood education.
• Ability to support diversity, equity, and cultural competency in responsibilities and across cultures.
• Licensing requirements: a teacher assistant must be 18+, high school graduate or GED, and meet one of several state-approved credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide unbiased, trauma-informed care of children according to developmental needs.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and continuous supervision of children at all times.
• Assist the creation and implementation of creative, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities.
• Arrange classroom space and educational materials as developmentally appropriate.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for children.
