Job summary

Lund’s Early Childhood Program seeks a passionate educator at the Teacher Assistant level who understands nurturing young minds through play and exploration. This full-time, in-person role at our South Burlington center offers a play-based curriculum designed to foster growth in a fun, supportive environment.

The role supports developmentally appropriate activities, ensures safety, and engages with families. Minimum age 18+, HS diploma or GED, and Vermont credentials are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide unbiased, trauma-informed care of children according to developmental needs
  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and continuous supervision of children at all times
  • Assist the creation and implementation of creative, developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
  • Arrange classroom space and educational materials as developmentally appropriate
  • Create and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for children

Lund’s Early Childhood Program seeks a passionateeducatorat theTeacherAssistant levelwho understands thevalue of nurturing young minds through play and exploration.Our Early Childhood Program, rated 5-STAR, provides exceptional care and education for children aged six weeks to five yearsthrough aplay-based curriculum designed to foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in a fun and supportive environment.Our center offersauniqueopportunity toengage with children and families with wrap-around supportwithin Lund’s Parent Child Center.

Weseekan engaged and enthusiasticteam memberexcitedtocreatemeaningful, joy-filled experiences,whoseeksto understand best practices,and is excited to learn a holistic approach to early childhoodeducation.Responsibilities include, butarenot limited to:

  • Provide unbiased, trauma-informed care of children according to developmental needs

This position isfull-time,40hours a week, in-person at our South Burlington center. The rate of pay for this position is $22/hr.

  • Perlicensingrequirements:Ateacherassistantis at leasteighteen (18) years of age, is a high school graduate or has completed a GED, and meets one (1) of the following qualifications:
    • At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level One (1) or Two (2) Certificate; or
    • At least a current CDA (Child Development Associate) and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
    • At least a State Board of Education approved Human Services Program Certificate that emphasizes child development or early childhood education and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
    • At least successful completion of the Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals’ course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
    • At least successful completion of a three (3) college credit course in child or human development or a three (3) college credit course for school age care and education and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger
