Job summary

NAYA Family Center is seeking a compassionate Domestic Violence Housing Advocate to join the Healing Circle Program. This role provides confidential, trauma-informed advocacy and housing support for Native American survivors who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

You will carry a caseload, deliver crisis intervention, safety planning, and housing navigation, and collaborate with landlords, service providers, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Knowledge of Native American history and experience with diverse populations.
• Passion for supporting survivors and access to safety, housing, and trauma-informed services.
• Experience with case management, advocacy, crisis intervention, or housing navigation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and grant compliance skills.
• Ability to work in community and office settings with flexible scheduling.
• Willingness to obtain required certifications ( DVSA training, CPR/First Aid ).

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management for survivors.
• Assist with housing stability through rental/utility assistance and landlord advocacy.
• Maintain an active caseload with personalized goal plans and connections to resources.
• Deliver mobile advocacy and outreach in shelters and community settings.
• Build relationships with landlords, housing authorities, and partner agencies to remove barriers to housing stability.
• Complete documentation and reporting in line with grant requirements and confidentiality standards.
• Distribute client funds and basic needs while complying with funding rules.
• Support hotline coverage and Gateway Center navigation as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and cross-department collaboration.
• Contribute to Healing Circle and NAYA's mission serving Urban Native youth and families.
