Job summary

SDSU Research Foundation is seeking a DUIP Counselor/Instructor to provide trauma-informed counseling strategies and services to participants in the Driving Under the Influence Program in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities include facilitating group and education sessions, managing caseloads, and coordinating with the clinical team when needed.

The role emphasizes ensuring client safety, clear boundaries, and collaborative recovery planning, with monthly meetings and ongoing case management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must be certified by and AOD organization or be in good standing as an Associate / Intern through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
• Two-years experience providing counseling services in the field of alcohol and/or mental health

Responsibilities

• Individual, Group, and Education Counseling 90%
• Attends monthly meetings and provides case management services
