Job summary

YMCA Robin Hood Group is seeking a Deputy Manager for a residential home in Selby to lead a dedicated team and provide consistent, trauma-informed care for children who may have complex needs.

You will run the home alongside the Registered Manager, support care planning and reviews, safeguard rigorously, drive quality and compliance, coach staff, manage rotas, and build trusting relationships with young people, with fully funded training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Residential Childcare or related setting.
• Studying towards Level 4/5 Diploma in Residential Care or equivalent.
• Ability to lead, support and develop a team in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day running of the home alongside the Registered Manager.
• Lead, motivate and support the team to deliver safe, consistent, and therapeutic care.
• Role model trauma-informed practice and build strong relationships with young people.
• Support care planning, contribute to assessments and personalised care plans.
• Safeguard children by following policies, risk assessments and procedures.
• Drive quality and compliance, complete audits and contribute to inspections.
• Coach and develop staff through supervisions and on-the-job support.
• Manage rotas and staffing to ensure continuous safe care.
• Engage directly with children, offering stability and positive role modelling.
• Promote a safe, loving and nurturing home environment for healing and growth.
