YWCA Evanston/North Shore seeks a Residential and Crisis Support Specialist in Evanston, IL to help maintain a safe, trauma‑informed residential space and assist callers of the 24‑hour crisis line. The role combines on‑site shelter duties with crisis intervention and resource referrals.

You will cover varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and overnights, document calls in the case management system, and support residents through intake, safety planning, and incident response, all

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish or other languages preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and case management systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Residential Support: Welcome residents, guide intake, uphold trauma‑informed care, provide referrals and enforce safety guidelines.
• Crisis Line: Respond to 24‑hour crisis line calls, assist with safety planning, provide emotional support, and document interactions.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case notes, timesheets, and documentation in Salesforce in a timely manner.
• Facility Support: Maintain a clean, safe environment and report security or maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Additional Duties: Attend trainings, participate in committees, and adhere to policies.
