Job summary

Peace House Community (PHC) provides a safe, non-violent space and supportive environment for marginalized individuals. The role focuses on welcoming community members, helping them access local resources, and promoting calm, respectful interactions.

This position involves supporting the Program Manager, de-escalating tense situations, and ensuring volunteers have a positive experience while upholding PHC guidelines and community values.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain calm during tense situations.
• Ability to de-escalate tense situations without becoming personally invested.
• Ability to provide a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all people.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming community members to the facility.
• Help community members find resources to meet their needs.
• Assist Program Manager in resolving conflicts among community members.
• Intervene in incidents that threaten the peace of the community.
• Assist new members in assimilating into PHC.
