Child & Family Service in Hilo, Hawaii seeks an Outreach Specialist to engage community members, screen for trauma and mental health concerns, and provide information and referral services.

You will link clients to appropriate programs, offer informal lay counseling when needed, and prioritize individuals and families affected by disasters. A strong commitment to equity and trauma-informed care is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with additional courses or training or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of direct care to children and adolescents.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and crisis response; ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct community outreach and trauma/mental health screening.
• Provide information and referral services and linkage to appropriate programs.
• Offer informal lay counseling when needs are identified.
