Job summary

Deborah's Place is seeking a part-time occupational therapist to support Dolores' Safe Haven, helping participants overcome barriers to community life through trauma-informed care.

You will assess functioning, assist with ADLs, and collaborate with staff to develop interventions, measure progress, and promote independence for individuals experiencing homelessness. Training and supervision available as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in OT required.
• Active OT state license in Illinois.
• 1 year of OT experience in community mental health or similar setting.
• Experience with homelessness population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess participants' functioning in community life and identify barriers to progress.
• Support participants in developing skills for independent ADLs, group participation, goal setting, and achievement.
• Work one-on-one with participants to identify challenges in daily activities and community participation.
• Aid participants in creating new approaches to engaging in community life.
• Collaborate with residential manager and staff to collect data on engagement in daily activities and community life.
• Provide recommendations to improve optimal functioning in Dolores' Safe Haven and the broader community.
