Job summary

Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a teacher assistant to supervise and instruct children in a safe, therapeutic classroom environment. You will support the Classroom Teacher, implement treatment plans, and help maintain records while traveling between two campuses in Rapid City.

This role values equity and inclusion, teamwork, and respectful, confidential interactions. Education: HS diploma required; experience in education/childcare preferred. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in education or childcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classroom activities and prepare instructional materials.
• Maintain classroom and student records and contribute data for progress notes and individual treatment plans.
• Nurture children through one-on-one communication and supervision.
• Provide leadership to improve the school, student learning and behavior, social skills, and safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and their families and follow agency policies.
• Travel between two campuses and perform other duties as assigned.
