Job summary

UCLA Health in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a Stuart House Therapist to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed services for children who have disclosed sexual abuse and their families. The role supports healing and resilience in a culturally responsive environment.

The position requires a Master’s in Social Work or Social Welfare and a California LCSW license, with preferred bilingual Spanish/English abilities. Duties include intake evaluations, psychotherapy, supervision, and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or Social Welfare from an accredited institution.
• State of California license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW).
• Experience providing trauma informed psychotherapy to children suspected victims of sexual abuse and to their families.
• Competence in conducting psychosocial and/or psychological evaluations with children and adolescents.
• Advanced knowledge of child development, complex trauma, evidence-based treatment models, crisis intervention, sexual trauma, and behaviors.
• Experience working with individuals in crisis and diverse populations.
• Strong ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with clients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health services for children who are suspected victims of sexual abuse and for their non offending family members, including intake evaluations, comprehensive diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
• Deliver evidence based, trauma informed treatment to support recovery and resilience.
• Provide follow up support and coordination of care for clients and families.
• Complete required documentation and other administrative responsibilities.
• May offer clinical supervision and training to students, or unlicensed staff as assigned.
• Participate in the Rape Treatment Center/Stuart House 24 hour on call response system, providing telephone intake, in person advocacy, crisis intervention, accompaniment, and information/referral for victims and significant others presenting for emergency medical care or forensic examinations (1–2 weekday overnight shifts per month).
• Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and other partner agencies as part of a multidisciplinary response.
