Job summary

The Julie Valentine Center seeks a dedicated Child Therapist to deliver individual, family, and group counseling to child victims of abuse or neglect and their caregivers. This full-time, salaried role emphasizes evidence-based approaches and clinical collaboration in a compassionate setting.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, documentation, and coordination with referral agencies. A License and Master's degree in a related field are required, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: License and Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• Minimum Experience: 3 years preferred.
• Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; experience with abused and traumatized children; play therapy and evidence-based treatments preferred; knowledge of child protective services and criminal justice system.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family and group counseling using evidenced based treatment (TFCBT, PCIT, EMDR, etc.).
• Help plan, facilitate and lead a Child (HERO), Adolescent, or Caregiver Support Group at least 3 times per year.
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
