Job summary

The Cambian Group is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join an integrated residential Children’s Service in Shropshire. You will support emotional wellbeing, mental health and placement stability for Looked After children, blending clinical consultation with direct therapy for complex needs.

Applicants should have experience with Looked After Children, trauma-focused interventions, and a strong background in child mental health.

Qualifications

• Working with Looked After Children and/or young people presenting with a range of clinical severity and needs.
• Knowledge of theory and practice of therapeutic interventions with children and young people.
• Assessment, intervention and management of a range of mental health needs including trauma.
• Partnership working supporting agreed placement objectives, care planning and progression including regular clinical reporting and routine outcome measures
• Registered with the relevant professional (HCPC, NMC, SWE, BACP, BABCP)
• Mental Health background and/or CAMHS experience
• Relevant qualifications to allow you to offer children therapy, when required
• Be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills
• Consultation and formulation skills
• Have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide a combined clinical consultative and direct therapeutic service for Looked After young people.
• Assess and identify young people’s needs and meet them through consultation and supervision.
• Train and support residential and care staff; contribute to care planning and management in partnership with the team.
• Deliver direct therapeutic work as required and ensure routine outcome measures are used.
