Job summary

The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie is seeking a Clinician to conduct mental health assessments and provide ongoing therapy for Unaccompanied Children (UC) in care. You will collaborate with Case Managers for plan development and reporting to ORR/Case Coordinators.

You will lead crisis intervention, provide regular psycho-educational groups, and assist with discharge planning in a culturally sensitive setting.

Qualifications

• MSW and 2 years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience; a Master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which clinical experience is a program requirement.
• Licensed or license eligible.
• Proficient in the Spanish Language.

Responsibilities

• Establish strong collaborative relationships with Case Managers working with UC to reunify them with a family member/sponsor; maintain open communication per ORR policy.
• Provide ongoing mental health assessment and trauma-informed therapy services to placed UC.
• Lead psycho-educational groups and coordinate discharge or transfer with program staff.
