Job summary

Acuity International is seeking a Caregiver in San Ysidro, CA to provide compassionate, trauma-informed daily care to families and unaccompanied children within government facilities. You will document activities, support health and safety, and coordinate with security and medical staff to ensure consistent welfare checks.

The role requires a High School diploma, 1+ year experience in related fields, and bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in childcare, healthcare, social services, education, behavioral health, residential care, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, or a related human services field.

Responsibilities

• Deliver attentive, respectful daily care to individuals and families, prioritizing safety and well‑being.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal hygiene needs.
• Distribute and monitor meals, supplies, and clothing while accounting for issued items.
• Monitor well‑being and report medical concerns or signs of abuse or distress.
• Provide trauma-informed care and emotional support.
• Supervise assigned children and family units during daily activities and transitions.
• Document caregiver activities and incidents per policies.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary living environment and assist with housekeeping.
• Coordinate with government personnel, medical staff, interpreters, and transportation teams.
• Respond to emergencies following safety, medical, and security protocols.
