Job summary

Embark Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to work with adolescents (12–17) in Independence, MO. You will partner with licensed clinicians to provide direct patient care, crisis intervention, and therapeutic engagement in a trauma-informed environment.

The role involves facilitating group activities, maintaining structured routines, and participating in de-escalation and crisis stabilization efforts.

Qualifications

• 21+ with HS diploma/GED (degree in human services preferred)
• 1+ year in behavioral health, education, coaching, or youth services (preferred)
• Willingness for CPR/First Aid, physical intervention training (provided)
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and support crisis stabilization
• Must pass background and drug screening per MO law
• Bonus for prior mental health or youth experience

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group activities (art, music, recreation) to build coping skills
• Provide behavioral support, mentoring, and structured routines
• Use evidence-based, trauma-informed care techniques
• Document progress and collaborate with clinical teams
• Respond to escalations using safe intervention protocols
