Job summary

New Narrative is seeking a Behavioral Health Medical Assistant to support integrated behavioral health services. You will perform vital signs, phlebotomy, injections under supervision, and coordinate nursing and lab schedules to keep care flowing smoothly.

You will document encounters in the electronic health record, maintain a safe clinical environment, and communicate with the team in a trauma-informed, person-centered manner to promote dignity and positive health outcomes for participants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant training strongly preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Phlebotomy training required.
• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) preferred.
• Driver's license may be required depending on program needs.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and document accurately in the EHR.
• Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens.
• Coordinate nursing and laboratory schedules for continuity of care.
• Schedule and administer court-mandated drug screenings.
• Assist providers and nursing staff during clinical procedures.
• Document all encounters and procedures promptly in the EHR.
• Engage participants with trauma-informed, respectful communication.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment; follow infection-control standards.
