Job summary

Nexus Neurorecovery Center – San Antonio is seeking compassionate Mental Health Technicians to support adolescent females in a residential treatment setting. You will provide direct care, supervision, and therapeutic support under licensed clinicians, helping residents with daily routines and emotional regulation.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Understanding of trauma‑informed care and crisis prevention.
• Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents.
• Strong observation, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Basic computer proficiency and electronic health records documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct Resident Care & Supervision: provide direct supervision and support to adolescent residents, ensuring their safety and well‑being.
• Maintain a structured and therapeutic environment that promotes emotional stability and personal growth.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and routines.
• Monitor resident behaviors and respond to behavioral or emotional challenges.
• Ensure residents follow schedules, treatment programming, and facility expectations.
• Transport residents to appointments and treatment activities as assigned.
• Behavioral Health & Therapeutic Support: support individualized treatment plans and crisis prevention.
• Apply de‑escalation techniques and trauma‑informed care.
• Encourage healthy coping, emotional regulation, and social interactions.
• Document resident progress in electronic health records and communicate changes to the clinical team.
