Job summary

Actalent is hiring an Emergency Department Technician for a fast-paced ED in Stanford, CA. This contract role offers exposure to a Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital environment.

You will perform essential patient care tasks, handle exams, prepare equipment, and coordinate appointments while ensuring compliance with protocols. A valid EMT license with BLS/CPR and ambulance experience are preferred. Epic proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• EMT license or CNA required. EMT experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR certifications required.
• Experience on an ambulance is a plus.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR software is desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepare information, equipment, and supplies for patient exams.
• Process prescription refills per practice guidelines.
• Collect and send specimens to labs per protocol.
• Report patient concerns to licensed staff promptly.
• Schedule and maintain patient physician appointments.
• Schedule radiology appointments.
• Maintain clean and orderly exam rooms and work areas.
• Inform patients about payments and collect fees via scheduling system.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance data into systems.
