Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist physicians and nurses in delivering emergency care during day shifts.

Requires high school diploma, EMT-B or military hospital corps school or current clinical student, plus prior clinical experience; BLS to be obtained within 90 days. Position is full-time, on-site with 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B certification at hire or equivalent military school.
• Previous clinical experience is preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses with care plans.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Participate in de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.
