Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support physicians, advanced practitioners, and nurses in delivering care to emergency and minor emergency patients. This on-site, full-time role operates 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the first shift in a busy Level I trauma center setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, performing treatments under supervision, and participating in de-escalation and safety training.

Qualifications

• EMT-B certification or equivalent at time of hire, or active clinical training.
• Completed or current enrollment in an approved clinical program with at least one semester.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in plans of care for ED patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Participate in de-escalation and safety training as part of onboarding.
