Job summary

Albany Med Health System's ACS&CC team is seeking a Physician Assistant to support the Emergency Department during peak trauma and surgical care. You will collaborate with attending surgeons, residents, and the ACS&CC care team to deliver high-quality care to surgical patients.

This full-time position requires NY licensure, NCCPA certification, and BLS/ACLS; 1–2 years of surgical or inpatient experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NYS licensure and NCCPA certification.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Represent the ACS&CC team in the Emergency Department as a provider.
• Provide back up for inpatient medical-surgical ACS APP providers.
• Perform ED consultations with comprehensive assessments, histories, and exams for the ACS&CC service line.
• Perform procedures and wound care as required in the ED.
• Coordinate patient discharges and ensure follow-up care is arranged.
• Respond to Level 3 traumas and provide trauma consultations.
• Document all clinical encounters and procedures in the EMR.
• Contribute to care team meetings and quality improvement projects.
