Albany Med Health System seeks a Physician Assistant to join the Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care (ACS&CC) team in the Emergency Department. You will support trauma and surgical patients during peak hours, collaborating with attending surgeons, residents, and ACS&CC staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited PA program and NYS licensure.
• National NCCPA certification and BLS/ACLS.
• 1–2 years surgical or inpatient care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent the ACS&CC team in the Emergency Room as a provider.
• Provide backup for inpatient ACS APPs on the floor.
• Perform ED consultations with comprehensive assessments.
• Perform ED procedures and wound care as needed.
• Coordinate discharges and arrange follow-up care.
• Respond to Level 3 trauma and provide trauma consultations.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and communicate with the team.
• Contribute to quality improvement and support education/research initiatives.
