Job summary

Extant Healthcare in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Plastic Surgeon to lead comprehensive burn, plastic and reconstructive care within a trauma-centered environment. You will provide inpatient and outpatient evaluation and management of acute burns, wounds, and reconstructive needs, including operative and non-operative treatment.

The role involves performing surgeries, rounding on patients, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in call coverage.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Plastic Surgery or General Surgery with burn/reconstructive training.
• Missouri license or eligibility with active DEA and hospital credentialing.
• Proficiency in acute burn management and microsurgical techniques.
• Excellent communication for patient/family counseling and EHR documentation.
• Ability to manage high-acuity workload and participate in call coverage.
• Experience in burn center or trauma program preferred; quality improvement a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical procedures and rounds on hospitalized patients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and participate in trauma/burn call.
• Counsel patients and families pre- and post-operatively.
• Document in electronic health records and collaborate with nursing/therapy teams.
• Engage in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
