Job summary

The UCSF Fresno Department of Surgery seeks a Trauma/Acute Care Surgeon with a concurrent leadership role as Associate Program Director for the UCSF Fresno General Surgery Residency Program at CRMC in Fresno, CA. This academic surgeon will contribute to patient care, resident education, and scholarly activity in a collaborative environment.

Clinical duties include trauma and acute care surgery, ICU management, and supervision of residents.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in General Surgery.
• Board Certification in Surgical Critical Care.
• Completion of an accredited Acute Care Surgery or Surgical Critical Care fellowship with two years of faculty experience.
• Minimum five years of post-training clinical and academic experience.
• Commitment to academic surgery, resident education and mentorship.
• Experience with residency education, curriculum development and ACGME accreditation is preferred.
• Interest and potential for future Program Director leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma, acute care surgery and surgical critical care at a major center.
• Lead in ICU management and emergency general surgery care.
• Supervise residents and fellows in operative and clinical settings.
• Participate in multidisciplinary quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Fulfill Associate Program Director responsibilities in collaboration with leadership.
