Job summary

Registered Nurse, Trauma Acute Care at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health on a 36-bed post-surgical unit specializing in traumatic injury and acute care surgical patients. Night shifts are 3x12 hours with rotation to weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, identify outcomes, plan, implement and evaluate an individualized plan of care.
• Utilizes critical thinking and the nursing process to anticipate and recognize changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or to elevate to the care team as necessary.
• Advocate for patients in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics and assist patients and families in making informed decisions.
• Mentor colleagues for advancement of nursing practice and professionalism.
• Assume authority and accountability for nursing care while delegating elements of care to others on the care delivery team.
• Seek out current evidence and apply to daily practice; contribute to research, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Education

Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
