Job summary

UC Irvine Health is seeking a seasoned Nurse Practitioner 2 in the Department of Surgery to manage inpatient care for the division, including trauma and critical care services. You will assess patients, plan care, participate in sign-out, and coordinate with residents and attending physicians.

You will review labs, obtain histories, perform exams, and lead discharge planning while adhering to HIPAA and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current, active, unrestricted California RN license.
• Current, active, unrestricted California NP license.
• DEA registration and Furnishing license.
• NP National Board Certification: AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• ATLS certification within six months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years NP experience.
• Experience in trauma/critical care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care management for general surgery divisions and surgical ICU.
• Participate in trauma resuscitations and surgical consultations.
• Discharge planning including summaries, instructions, and meds.
• Review labs, obtain comprehensive histories, and document patient care.
