Job description

Our client is seeking experienced Trapeze Software Developers to support the development, enhancement, integration, and ongoing modernization of enterprise transit applications built around the Trapeze platform.

The successful candidates will have hands‑on experience working with Trapeze transit solutions, strong software development and database skills, and experience integrating Trapeze with other enterprise and operational systems. Trapeze’s platform spans areas such as scheduling, operations, demand response/paratransit, passenger information, asset management, and related transit applications.

Location: Hybrid

Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and enhance applications and functionality within the Trapeze software ecosystem.
• Develop custom solutions, interfaces, utilities, and integrations supporting transit operations.
• Work with Trapeze modules such as PASS, OPS, FX/Fixed Route, INFO, COM, EAM, OneMobility, or related applications.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, database objects, and data integrations supporting Trapeze applications.
• Build and maintain integrations between Trapeze and third‑party systems using APIs, web services, database integrations, and file‑based interfaces.
• Troubleshoot application, integration, performance, and data‑related issues across Trapeze environments.
• Support application configuration, customization, testing, deployment, upgrades, and production releases.
• Analyze existing Trapeze functionality and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and user experience.
• Work with business analysts, transit operations teams, architects, infrastructure teams, and vendors to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop technical specifications, solution documentation, deployment procedures, and support documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, defect resolution, and production support.
• Support data migration, system upgrades, and modernization initiatives involving legacy Trapeze applications.
• Ensure solutions follow organizational standards for security, architecture, development, and change management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, ideally within transit, transportation, logistics, or another operationally complex environment.
• 2+ years of hands‑on Trapeze development, configuration, integration, or support experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Trapeze PASS, OPS, FX/Fixed Route, INFO, COM, EAM, OneMobility, or other Trapeze transit applications.
• Strong SQL and relational database development skills, including experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Experience developing and troubleshooting system‑to‑system integrations.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, data flows, APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience working with production systems where reliability and availability are critical.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex application and data issues.
• Experience working within Agile or structured SDLC environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
• Previous experience working with a public transit agency or transportation organization is an asset.
• Knowledge of transit scheduling, dispatch, vehicle operations, paratransit/demand response, passenger information, or fleet management is an asset.
• Experience integrating Trapeze with ERP, GIS, CAD/AVL, payment, mobile, workforce management, or business intelligence platforms is an asset.
• Experience with Trapeze upgrades, migrations, customizations, and legacy application modernization is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, DevOps/CI/CD, Power BI, or other modern cloud and analytics technologies is an asset.
