Job summary

Valley Health is seeking a Transporter on the Patient Transport Team to safely move patients by stretcher or wheelchair throughout the facility, and to assist with medication transport and oxygen connection as needed. A High School diploma is required, and BLS certification is mandatory (training provided).

This non-exempt, regular full-time position supports compassionate patient care on the first shift. Prior healthcare experience is preferred; strong documentation and customer service skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) required; BCLS training provided.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients by stretcher, wheelchair or cookie chair to designated locations within the facility.
• Transport medications with patients and connect patients to O2 when needed.

Job Description

Transporter is responsible for patient transport by stretcher, wheelchair or cookie chair to designated locations throughout the facility. Upon request, transports medications with patients and connects patients to O2, if needed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certification & Licensures

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required *

BCLS training provided

Qualifications

Previous healthcare experience preferred Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs, stretchers or cookie chairs required Ability to stand or walk for periods of time required Ability to use handheld electronic devices/computers required Excellent documentation skills required Excellent verbal communication skills required Ability to provide excellent customer service required
