Job summary

Valley Health in Winchester, VA is hiring a Patient Transporter for the second shift. The transporter moves patients by stretcher or chair, delivers medications with patients, and assists with oxygen connections as needed. Requires a high school diploma and BLS certification, with emphasis on documentation and interpersonal skills.

Non-exempt, regular hours, fully on-site with benefits including health, PTO, retirement match, and tuition assistance. Prior healthcare exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) required.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to transport patients using wheelchairs, stretchers, or cookie chairs.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients by stretcher, wheelchair or cookie chair to designated locations.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and courteous service.

Pay Range $17.00 - $20.40

Transporter is responsible for patient transport by stretcher, wheelchair or cookie chair to designated locations throughout the facility. Upon request, transports medications with patients and connects patients to O2, if needed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Certification & Licensures

BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required * BCLS training provided

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare experience preferred
• Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs, stretchers or cookie chairs required
• Ability to stand or walk for periods of time required
• Ability to use handheld electronic devices/computers required
• Excellent documentation skills required
• Excellent verbal communication skills required
• Ability to provide excellent customer service required
