Responsibilities

• Insures the comfort of the patient while transporting

• When delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignment
• Transports equipment and supplies as directed
• Maintains and cleans transportation equipment
• Responds to emergencies and spills as needed
• Executes department education and directions from supervisors

Salary Range: $15,000.00 To $20,000.00 Annually

Job Specific Competencies:

Insures the comfort of the patient while transporting

Transports using wheelchairs and stretchers

Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting

Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return TAT

Communicates any delays back to department

When delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignment

Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, etc.

In times of high activity, helps out in any other area as needed

Assists nursing staff removing patient from bed when necessary

Maintains patient privacy when transporting

Engages patient in conversation during the transport

Makes equipment rounds and transports equipment back to central supply, PACU or any other area of the hospital as directed.

Picks up medication s from pharmacy as directed and brings to appropriate floor

Responsible for maintaining and cleaning Transportation equipment (ex: wheel chairs, stretchers, beds, etc.), before and after transporting patients.

Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools.

Performs related services such as , bed ,oves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc.

Maintains high standards; works steadily at an efficient pace; achieves high QA score.

Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies special needs, spills, etc.

Accepts direction from Supervisors and hospital staff.

Accepts and absorbs Department and Hospital education program.

Exercises good judgement while working around patients and visitors. Remains professional at all times.

Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs. Assists other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education + Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalency

6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.
