Salary Range: $15,000.00 To $20,000.00 Annually

Job Specific Competencies:

• Insures the comfort of the patient while transporting
• Transports using wheelchairs and stretchers
• Checks two forms of patient identification prior to transporting
• Completes an In-Patient transport within 20 minutes - Leave to Return TAT
• Communicates any delays back to department
• When delay is encountered, calls dept. for new assignment
• Transports any other required items; documents, equipment, etc.
• In times of high activity, helps out in any other area as needed
• Assists nursing staff removing patient from bed when necessary
• Maintains patient privacy when transporting
• Engages patient in conversation during the transport
• Makes equipment rounds and transports equipment back to central supply, PACU or any other area of the hospital as directed.
• Picks up medication s from pharmacy as directed and brings to appropriate floor
• Responsible for maintaining and cleaning Transportation equipment (ex: wheel chairs, stretchers, beds, etc.), before and after transporting patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, solutions, equipment and tools.
• Performs related services such as , bed ,oves, changing mattresses, stocking supplies, etc.
• Maintains high standards; works steadily at an efficient pace; achieves high QA score.
• Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies special needs, spills, etc.
• Accepts direction from Supervisors and hospital staff.
• Accepts and absorbs Department and Hospital education program.
• Exercises good judgement while working around patients and visitors. Remains professional at all times.
• Takes initiative in rendering service or responding to needs. Assists other associates as necessary. Responds to direction as provided.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education + Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalency

6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.
