CHI Mercy Health seeks a Patient Transporter to provide essential patient movement across the campus, ensuring safety and high-quality service. You will identify patients, assist in transfers, and monitor condition while documenting equipment and identifiers during transport.

You will support technologists, maintain clean work areas, and keep transport devices ready for use. The role emphasizes patient safety, professionalism, and reliable patient-centered care.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience.

Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service for all individuals within our facility. You will be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.

• Transports patients safely to the imaging department.
• Transports patients back to their rooms upon completion of examination and ensures that the patient is hooked up to all devices that were removed for transport.
• Assists technologists in positioning and moving patients utilizing necessary lift systems.
• Documents initials on the requisition two patient identifiers, oxygen levels and what devices the patient was hooked up to prior to transport.
• Maintains clean linen supply. Monitors blanket warmer and restocks when needed. Stocks patient scrubs.
• Disinfects all gurneys and wheelchairs on a regular basis. Ensures equipment is properly stored when not in use.
