Job summary

CHI Mercy Health of Roseburg is seeking a Patient Transporter to move inpatients and outpatients across the campus while ensuring safety and a high level of customer service. You will verify patient details, help with positioning, and assist clinical staff as needed to maintain smooth operations.

You will contribute to patient comfort, safety, and efficient throughput, while maintaining clean equipment and reporting any issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• AHA BLS certification within 30 days is required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely within campus and assist with wayfinding.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience. Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service for all individuals within our facility. You will be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.

• Transports patients safely to the imaging department.
• Transports patients back to their rooms upon completion of examination and ensures that the patient is hooked up to all devices that were removed for transport.
• Assists technologists in positioning and moving patients utilizing necessary lift systems.
• Documents initials on the requisition two patient identifiers, oxygen levels and what devices the patient was hooked up to prior to transport.
• Maintains clean linen supply. Monitors blanket warmer and restocks when needed. Stocks patient scrubs.
• Disinfects all gurneys and wheelchairs on a regular basis. Ensures equipment is properly stored when not in use.
