Job summary

Mercy Medical Center seeks a part-time transporter to move patients within the department and assist with clerical tasks. You will greet patients, answer phones, and prepare requisitions, supporting the front office and clinical staff.

The role involves patient transport, basic darkroom duties, and routine duties across departments, with emphasis on safety and courteous service. This position may require facility-wide errands and coordination with caregivers.

Qualifications

• BCLS (AHA) certification required at hire and maintained.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the department.
• Perform clerical duties: answer phones, greet patients, prepare requisitions.
• Assist in darkroom, stock supplies, and front office tasks.
• Retrieve patient records and operate PACS and office equipment.
• Run errands throughout the facility and maintain courteous communication.

Responsibilities

The transporter transports patients to and from the department. Other duties include but are not limited to; Darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties. This performs clerical duties for the department such as answering telephones, greeting patients and preparing requisitions for outpatients. Other duties include, but are not limited to, filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records. The transporter should demonstrate adequate knowledge of the usual terminology of tests ordered in department person should demonstrate good telephone etiquette and be able to greet patients and other visitors in a polite and friendly manner. Provides clerical support by utilizing telephone, computer, office equipment, PACS (Picture Archive and Communication System) and by running errands throughout the facility.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
