Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and equipment between departments, using proper body mechanics and safety. The role supports patient flow and collaborates with Mercy teams to maintain efficient operations.

Recommended candidates will have a High School Diploma and at least two years of customer service experience, plus BLS CPR/AED certification. This on-site position emphasizes reliability and teamwork within the Medical Center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) certification.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and equipment to and from hospital departments safely.
• Use Epic software to track patient locations during movements.
• Maintain PAR levels for equipment across locations within Mercy.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

Job description

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center. Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to track equipment movement throughout the facility.

Position Details

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience: Two years customer service experience.

Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) program.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
