Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Transportation/Van Driver to safely transport residents to outings and appointments, and to maintain vehicles through daily inspections and light maintenance.

You will document trips, assist residents, and ensure safety standards while complying with regulations. The role requires a CNA credential, CDL with passenger endorsement, CPR, and availability for nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
• Must be a current CNA in good standing.
• CDL with passenger endorsement valid in the State with three years experience.
• Current CPR certification and additional nursing specialty certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform job in a safe, secure and professional manner at all times.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; minor maintenance as needed.
• Fuel the vehicles; ensure periodic vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
• Document customer usage and prepare trip reports.
• Prepare accident and incident reports as necessary.
• Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle, with safety briefings and check-offs.
• Must have mechanical skills to check the vehicle safety conditions.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Learn and follow City policies, regulations and transportation laws.

Description

The Transportation/Van Driver is responsible for the safe and secure transport of the Residents to various outings such as doctor's appointments and social outings sponsored by the facility. Further duties include maintaining transportation vehicles by performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and performing minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles.

• Ability to learn and follow City policies, regulations and transportation laws.

• Must possess a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement valid in the State with three years experience.
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
