Job summary

The City of Charlotte seeks a Training Specialist for the CDOT to design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate employee training focused on workplace safety and compliance. You will work with department leadership and the Organizational Development & Learning division to ensure staff are equipped to perform safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field; and three years of related work experience.
• Master's degree preferred with one year of related work experience.
• Three to five years of experience developing and delivering employee training.
• Experience in conducting workplace safety training and maintaining training records.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CDOT new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
• Coordinate safety training programs and related on-the-job training.
• Develop training curriculums, manuals, standard operating procedures, presentations, videos, and other instructional materials.
• Monitor training effectiveness through testing, observations, audits, and employee feedback.
• Prepare reports regarding training completion, compliance metrics, and performance.
• Collaborate with department leadership and the Organizational Development & Learning division to align training with goals.
