Job summary

City of Greenville (SC) is seeking a safety and training leader to manage Public Works safety and training programs, CDL training, and incident investigations. You will oversee inspections, develop policies, coordinate training plans, and ensure compliance with OSHA, SCDOT, FMCSA, and city requirements.

This role leads a team, analyzes safety data, prepares reports, and guides corrective actions while supporting emergency operations.

Qualifications

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety and training programs for Public Works.
• Coordinate CDL training, testing, and recordkeeping in compliance with FMCSA and SCDMV.
• Administer OSHA compliance, hazard communication, PPE, and industrial hygiene.
• Lead accident/incident investigations, data analysis, and corrective actions.
• Guide department safety policy development and emergency response support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inspections of worksites, facilities, and equipment to ensure safety compliance.
• Develop training curricula, maintain records, and audit training effectiveness.
• Lead safety meetings, assessments, and safety data analysis for trends.
• Supervise staff, provide coaching, and manage licenses/certifications.
