Job summary

The SYGMA Network in Columbus, OH is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the transportation manager in supervising delivery and backhaul activities. The role includes training associates, ensuring compliance with DOT and OSHA standards, and promoting safety across the department.

You will manage daily work, monitor labor hours, prepare schedules, and collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues while maintaining cost efficiency and service quality.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, DOT rules and SOPs.
• Ability to lead and facilitate discussions with groups and individuals.
• Capable of applying policies consistently and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates, ensuring SOPs and safety standards are followed.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA) and accurate electronic logs.
• Oversees labor hours and consumable supplies within budget; prepares work schedules and shifts as needed.
• Assists with training of new associates and cross-training of current staff.
• Directs proper use of company assets to support delivery functions and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Analyzes delivery productivity and implements efficiency and cost-reduction measures.
• Interprets and enforces company policies, including food safety and record-keeping requirements.
• Collaborates with warehouse and customer service to resolve delivery issues.
