Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. is seeking a transportation supervisor to oversee drivers and operations at our terminal and distribution centers. You will create schedules, manage routing, and implement solutions to improve safety, service, and efficiency.

Formación

• 2 to 5 years of distribution, logistics, and/or transportation experience, including demonstrated leadership attributes, team lead experience, or supervisory experience
• Certification and/or License
• Class A commercial driver's license in state of residence preferred
• Have current medical card preferred
• Must be able to read, write and speak English

Responsabilidades

• Provide daily work direction to professional drivers to ensure safe and efficient operations and to meet customer requirements; maintain daily activity assignments of tractors, trailers, trucks, and drivers
• Monitor daily activity to make necessary adjustments in load assignments while communicating with members, customers, drivers, dispatch, and/or other DFA locations
• Maintain up-to-date copies of routes; manage routing software to increase route efficiency, lower cost, and meet demands
• Create employee schedules, approve time, resolve timekeeping issues, monitor overtime, and take actions to meet goals
• Ensure all daily paperwork for each load is completed, including mileage for DOT reports, driver logs, and maintenance activity
• Prepare and distribute operational KPI reports
• Establish positive relationships with members/customers to ensure optimal service
• Hold drivers accountable for professional interactions and safety; resolve issues
• Work with fleet maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained
• Ensure employees meet performance expectations through training and audits
• Train and coach drivers on procedures for activities including equipment/machinery
• Investigate accidents and safety concerns with safety personnel
• Collaborate with HR on driver recruitment and development programs
• Communicate with supervisors and customers to improve transportation functions
• Be available for emergencies or on-call; participate in rotations
• Other duties as required by management
