We are seeking a Transportation Supervisor who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness.
This position provides supervision to the transportation staff by radio dispatch and other forms of communication. May have to occasionally operate motor vehicles for Whitten Center. This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Transportation Department. Works closely with the Direct Support Managers and nursing and exercises a high degree of discretion and sound judgment. This position will require the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
The position for this posting is located at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
High school diploma. Valid SC driver's license.
Experience in the operation or maintenance of heavy equipment, motorized vehicles or vessels, or machinery that is directly related to the area of employment. Ability to implement and follow a strict schedule for transportation staff, to ensure timeliness and promptness to destination. Ability to perform operational maintenance. Up-to-date Defensive Driving certification. Ability to exercise sound judgment, complying with all required regulations and procedures. Ability to be a team leader and maintain effective working relationships. Computer skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, been, and pull up to 20 pounds.
