Job summary

Freedom Village Bradenton is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of the transportation department. You will assist in staff recruitment, training, supervision, and scheduling, ensuring policy compliance and efficient routing.

Responsibilities include creating schedules, covering shifts as needed, and supporting the Director of Resident Services with personnel issues. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and excellent resident service within a senior living

Qualifications

• High school education required; must understand and follow instructions in English.
• Must communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Authorize admission of all inbound traffic according to policy and procedures.
• Create and manage Transportation schedules and daily run sheets; minimize overtime.
• Staff recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling and coverage of shifts.
• Assist Director of Resident Services in hiring, training, disciplining and evaluating staff.
• Coordinate marketing and other events; assign additional staff as required.
• Notify appropriate personnel immediately in emergencies as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Transportation Supervisor will work in accordance with established policies and procedures and /or specific instructions from the Director of Resident Services and is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operation of the transportation department. Responsibilities include assisting in staff recruitment, training, supervision, scheduling.

1. Responsible for ensuring authorization to admit all incoming traffic according to established Policy and Procedures.
2. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
3. Creates and assigns Transportation schedule and assigns the daily run sheets, avoids overtime as necessary, while keeping the integrity and Transportation of the community.
4. Responsible for meeting staffing needs, including but not limited to scheduling and filling in for absent staff, covering shifts when no one else is available.
5. Responsible for assisting the Director of Resident Services in personnel related issues, included but not limited to hiring, training, disciplining and evaluating staff.
6. Maintains Marketing and other events scheduled and assigns additional staff as required.
7. Conducts special projects as assigned by the Director as required.18. Responsible for immediate notification of all emergencies to appropriate personnel, including, but not limited to, the Executive Director and/or Administrator, Department Heads, Supervisor and Health Center Charge Nurse

Qualifications:

• High school education required. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with the residents always.
• Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License (Required)
• Clean Driving record

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be also to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch and squat to load and unload cargo areas. Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule. Keep vehicles clean. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries. May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time. Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
